Modeling Airport Choice Using a Latent Class Logit Model

Studying the location of an airport is essential for optimizing its functionality, ensuring safety, and maximizing economic benefits. There are many airports located within a short distance each other, users can often choose to travel between one or other depending on number variables that they value their final choice. In this paper, we design stated preference survey estimate latent class logit model study user behavior in choice nearby airports. The idea if indeed depend characteristics purpose trip factors such as traveling with family, children, friends play role determining preferred airport. It also investigated whether presence low-cost airlines direct connections destinations (number transfers) influence shown there two classes who have different behavior, perception certain influences nearest furthest type trip.
